Diagnosis - The Abdomen

Diagram of Abdominal Diagnosis The abdomen reveals diagnostic information by palpation and visual observation. The labeled areas are actually on the surface of the skin and they manifest signs of the function of the organ they're labeled for. In the diagram the skin and superficial layers of muscle have been omitted so that those organs can be seen.

Pathological signs in the areas include tension on deep touch, discoloration, presence of paarticular colors, changes in the skin itself, pain of any quality, any other reaction to palpation - deep or shallow.
